I dont know how big your 'slight gap' is, but the fit on mine isnt perfect along 1 of the side edges.
One slight issue is that you may need to adjust it to ensure it doesnt clip the front lip on the body when you open it up - front of the bonnet may need raising slightly using the bonnet hinge backet.
