Whilst waiting for my body shell to arrive I have been going down my list of final jobs on the chassis. The Jag rear wheel bearings seemed to have a lot of play in them so out with the DTI and both sides are at 18 thou?
I have reduced the brass spacer by 14 thou but the same play is still there????
It is not at the diff end as I have checked that out and it doesn't look to be coming from the UJ's? I can see the movement between the alloy hub carrier and the splined part of the half shaft.
Any ideas? The play is at the TDC and BDC of the wheel and none at the sides.
Is it possible that the bearing races have not been pressed in to the correct depth on assembly?
Confused

So gladl I put low strength Loctite on the splined shafts as plenty of persuasion was still needed in the seperation process:thumb:
