Paul - I have only ever heard of people "losing a lobe" during cam break in from folks using aggressive high lift cams in the USA, zinc additives or not.

So long as you keep the revs up between 1500 and 2500 rpm for the first 20 minutes (and the problem most people have in doing this is engine overheating) you should be OK.

Of course, if you use a roller lifter cam you can forget all about break in anyway.

Of course, there are no "definites" in this game!
