RE: Spam from a Forum Member

Hi,

To the members I sent the email to, if you consider my tactics underhanded, intrusive or exploiting of the details you submitted into your profile then I sencerly appologise.

To the members I had not yet got around to sending the email to, this is nothing personal. I just didn’t want to flood Roberts server with emails, so decided to work through members alphabetically pausing between each letter. I have only got up to ‘J’ so far.

The reason I sent the email out is that we have launched a new kit car forum intended on bring the benefits experienced from using this forum out to a wider range of people, among other reasons.

It is you guys, as members of this forum, that have made the site what it is. So I thought it only fare that all of you get the opportunity to be the first to join and contribute to the new forum if you want. If I was wrong with this assumption, then again I apologise.

As it has coursed upset with Robert I won’t continue to send out the email. So for those who have not yet received it and are now interested to find out what I said, I include it below.

The site is new and as all new things I am sure there will be teething problems. However, we will be doing everything we can to iron these out as soon as possible.

Hi

As a fellow Replica Cobra enthusiast I thought I would write to you personally and tell you about the new kit/replica car forum, giving you the chance to be one of the first to join and take advantage of the competitions that are currently running to promote the site.

As a keen user of the CRC forum for the last couple of years I have seen and experienced the advantages of a well designed and run Web forum.

In the past Robert has expressed an urge to restrict access to the CRC forum to members of the Cobra Replica Club. I, like many others replica Cobra owners, am not a member of the CRC. So if access to the site were restricted we would loose the advantages of using the forum.

So together with Fiero Factory and other sponsors we have been working on starting a new, and we hope improved, forum, which will be permanently open to all kit/replica car enthusiasts.

The forum is split into sections, one for each of the major sectors and a common area for discussions, advice and sales. Replica Cobras have there own section.

Visits and posts are very important to the forums success. To help this along we will be running several competitions, funded by our sponsors. So you could win some great prizes just for joining in. Currently the following, with the hopes to have more soon….

(*) People joining before the 01/04/03 will be entered into a draw to win a set of drop forged metric spanners.

(*) Every post made, either new or reply, will enter the member that made the post into a draw at the end of the month to win a very tasteful alloy tax disk holder. (not including pointless posts made just to increase the chance of winning)

(*) The topic posted, by a UK resident, that triggers the most responses by the end of the year will win a years subscription to one of the kit car magazines.

Some of the other stuff we have to give away are, Green Stuff brake pads, lots of useful tools, car parts etc.

I’d like to finish off by saying we are not here to compete with the CRC forum. The CRC Website is a great site. We just hope to expand the example out to benefit a wider range of kit/replica car enthusiasts and guarantee the use of a forum in the future to Replica Cobra owners that choose not to join the club.

We hope you’ll join us soon, http://www.fierofactory.org

Andy
