An easy and ridiculous solution would be to remove the windscreen alltogether, No windscreen, no inside edge, no problem }(

Using a contact glue could be a tad tricky to remove afterwards even from the shiny chrome surface, A selant would probably be better as it should pull off in a single lump. Another solution is to use a polyester foam that you can buy in tubes (CFS sells the stuff)

Mask the glass and surrounding frame as you don't want this stuff anywhere near where you don't want it!!

squirt the stuff in to the void

Wait for it to dry

Cut off excess foam

It won'r look pretty but is should stop the Bristol B*****d complaining.

When your ready to remove simply use Acetone as this will Melt the foam in to a uckky liquid that can be washed away.

Very mucky, very ugly but it's an alternative
