I've got some Dax internal bonnet hinges on my bootlid.
Basically they have been reversed and the plates are bonded and glassed up under the rear scuttle, works perfectly. Also use the Dax gas struts as well.
I will be out and about in the old girl over the weekend at Duxford and I will get some photos for you then and post Monday evening.
