Im assuming your not at the very start of the headers with your band/pop rivet.

I wonder if the Vehicle inspectorate ever stopped and wondered why paper thin alumium sandwich head and exhaust gaskets dont melt where they protrude into the flame path?

Dont forget to rivet in triplicate for them!!!

Melt temp Aluminum 1190 - 1215 degress C
sorry didnt make myself clear there..what I was on about was that I need extra rivets for taking out all the packing after the SVA, so nothing to do with the SVA really. When I picked up my exausts Roger told me to use stainless as somepeople had had their aluminium rivets melt, but looking at your temps is that actually possible?
