Re: Shells new V-Power

According to Shell, Optimax is 98 RON, V-power is 99 ron, except in France and Belgium, where its 98 RON as per optimax.
Its being marketed as 99 RON.
Only the people with very good modern fuel injection and engine management systems will be able to see any difference, except at the wallet.
Most shell pumps in the uk that say optimax are actually now dispensing v power, but Im amazed that anyone can tell the difference in street driving between 98 and 99 ron; unless of course youve been driving round on supermarket unleaded then switched.
The recent change in weather (ie denser cooler air now) would have made more of a difference in feel than a 1 ron upgrade.

The power of advertising is stronger than the advantage offered by 1 extra RON me thinks...

So who remembers 'put a tiger in your tank???'
