Metallic paint can be very hard to match depending on finish etc.It has a lot to do with the pressure the paint was put on with as to how the metallic part of the paint sits as it hits the car as well as the type of paint used, viscosity nozzle size , speed of spray pattern etc.Lots of variables I'm afraid although the best way to find out would be to take it to the people who did the original paint.

Hi Gareth,

Cutting out just the part would seem a bit "mental", if Pilgrim won't help I'll dump the back end in there car park! (I just hope that Tony is a "good" guy and wants to help).

The problem with the paint is that it got done somewhere miles away up North.

I was looking at an article that Nigel Dean wrote about Berkshire Bodyshop, he reckoned that they were very good (but expensive). Oh well I've a long way to go before worrying about the paint!

Cheers,

Pete
