I just read that he was not able to tour with TT because of his own tour and his new album release (Commitments et al, blah, blah)
There is plenty of info on the net but trying to track down whether he jumped or was pushed out of Take That is harder to find.
Aparently he was tied in by contract and could not perform for some time after TT. I think his first single once the contract was up was "Freedom" but this was not with Sony or their £80M pay cheque.
I saw him locally a few times just after TT and he was not looking good at all.
Personally i think ego clashes with Gary Barlow had plenty to do with his exit from TT. Gary barlow was (Allegedly) constantly reminding the other band members that he was the tallented song writer and they were extras, Can't imagine that going down well with a cocky little sod from Tunstall.
