Judging by the terminology, you have a recon standard bottom end, otherwise I think they would have made more of the description. The top end allows better breathing and timing for performance.

If they have done a good job with balancing etc, I still believe you should be limiting yourself to 5750. Depending on your cam with the inlet etc you would not be benefiting much by extending this anyway.

High performance HEI ? I only know the standard HEI distributor which has its own issues above around 5800 RPM anyway - dont know whether it was down to Spark scatter or not, although I believe that there is a kit which can solve this
