The 4 pot one has the brake pipe coming from the center of the caliper and the 3 pot pipe comes from the top. (The caliper has bulges where the piston housings are, there is a sort of "8" shape on the 4 pot ones on both sides. On the 3 pot the inside one looks different with just a single circular casting shape.
The only way forward is to get it swapped.
