This position looks better for the boot space but it introduces an angle at the spring shock combination.
But they should know what the best is.
In my opinion the old position (vertical) was or is a bit too much disturbance of the boot and wheel box.
Anyway the question was about the size of the shims for the rear toe-in of a DeDion chassis.
I recall a 8 mm plate……….. is that something?

The angled shocks in the picture are on the early De Dion chassis. The current chassis has vertical shocks. I think they went vertical to reduce the way the shocks are loaded when the body rolls on corners etc.
(The spring becomes less effective on an angled shock the lower the ride height).
"8mm plate" Nothing to do with the De Dion.
