The way I removed my lower bushes recently was to first carefully drill through the rubber bush with a 1/8 bit close to the inner sleeve several times. This made the subsequent pushing and shoving which is needed anyway easier. i did this with the wishbone still attached to the car - was upgrading my suspension to polyflex bushes after 14 years on the road. well worth while
