The oil dip stick on mine is about half way down on the left hand side entering the block below the line of the cyclinder head. Mine has a chrome housing that pressure fits into the block. Your's may not have been fitted making it difficult to identify.

The reservior for the brake and clutch fits as high as possible on the engine side of the cockpit bulkhead sensibly near to the clutch cylinder and brake servo. I used chrome tubing over the bolts to move the mounting bracket out from the lip of bonnet to allow for easy access to the reservior cap.
