Hi all,

I'm in the process of swapping my dented standard Rover V8 sump for a shallow trap door version.

Having got the old sump off I have noticed that the main bearings are ARP studs, and the rod bolts have SPS stamped on them.

I have done a bit of a search on t'internet for SPS and they seem to be a rod bolt for American V8s amongst other things. Does anyone have any info on these, as I dont think they are a standard Rover V8 replacement? Are they suposed to be a better than standard bolt?
