As supplied from GD my scoop had two ovals cut into it so giving a narrow vertical web in the middle and enough meat at each end to make a fixing point.
I decided to leave it as supplied and fitted an easily removable mesh useing 4mm fixings at each end and in the middle.
The mesh is steel with studs welded on the back then polished up a little and nickel plated.
