| RE: Brake Calipers When I had this problem I removed the old bleed screw/valve, tapped it for a grease nipple, screwed in the grease nipple then refitted the bleed valve tight. Then used a grease gun to fill the caliper up with grease and force the pistons out. Every time I've done it the other ways mentioned above the pistons have been damaged. Doing it the grease gun way is messy, wasteful of grease etc. but won't damage the pistons or caliper. Grease must be removed from caliper with petrol if necessary, before new O rings are installed. Good luck. Ian
ps if you do it this way use the biggest grease gun you can find to save time. |
