Now Chris you have got me thinking.

Whats the power limit of the normal Jag driveshaft ? I intend once my car is running to try to see by trial and error how much boost an un-opened Lexus on standard internals can take. I have a spare engine with lower miles on the clock than mine so why not?

The current record is 540 rear wheel brake horsepower ( about 650bhp at the flywheel) by a guy in Australia running a 4wd Celica , and he's now fitted a supercharger in addition to twin turbo's to see what he can get out of it further.

If I start down the same road whats the max power a standard solid Jag driveshaft can take and would the act of shortening it limit its power handling abilities still further. I have a Powerlok diff but I'm assuming that wheelspin would be the most limiting factor and the tyres would smoke before the driveshaft breaks.

Thoughts please?

Anyone broke a Jaguar driveshaft ?

Cheers,

Tony
