I think £12 a month is excessive for a backup service. £144 a year.
I've got two external hard drives which back up the machine once a month. Only ever one drive here in the house - the other comes into the office and gets put in the desk drawer. The one that's in the desk comes home. End of the month the process repeats itself.
Cheap, inexpensive backup (and quick).
I am however running out of space so it's time for a couple of larger hard drives seen a couple of nice 1TB jobs.. mmmm
