Hi there I'm after advice......

I intend to put a Ford 302 or 351 in my Pilgrim which is running Granada Scorpio diff and looking to source a manual gearbox

Unfortunately I'm hearing mixed messages i.e don't fit a 4 speed box as the car will appear to be running out of steam i.e on motorways, it must be a T5 or Tremec.

Then theres the ah... just change the ratios in the diff and you can put in a 4 speed.

Has anyone any experience or can point out what are the ways to ensure the motor, gearbox and diff all work in harmony to ensure a good rev range and driveability.

I am trying to a source a cost efficient means to do this so please no put in a £2.5k gearbox as thats the easy way if I had the funds !
