| I don't think you need to weld a plate on anywhere, some rivets will do the job.
If you have a painted or galvanised chassis this would be a right pain to have to do.
Pilgrim supplied me a plate prestamped with the chassis number and I rivetted it to the bulk head under the bonnet. I did also stamp onto the chassis rail and the chassis inside the boot.
