Security Devices

Andi,

A Thatcham approved Cat2 immobiliser is pretty much a 'must-have' and will normally get you a discount on your insurance. An audible alarm system (Cat1) is usually more trouble than it is worth in my experience. The ultrasonic detectors need careful setting up for convertibles otherwise you get loads of false alarms. I don't have much experience on Trackers. Quite expensive but will lead you to the location where the joy-ride left your Cobra burnt out. I've not used the DAX immobiliser you mentioned.

Whatever you decide to fit, it is probably worth a call to your insurance company to see if they have a preferred device or manufacturer. Some insurance companies also insist that they are professionally fitted and that you have a certificate to say so.

Cheers,
