| What you are talking about is a big ribbed structure that is maybe 2 to 3 feet bigger all round than the part you want to make. It needs multiple layer of glass matt and resin applied and then reinforcing ribs, cut to approximate shape from wood or steel to hold the shape once it is removed. It must then be strong enough to allow someone to lay up a load of layers of matt and resin inside it to make the replica part. It must be of a shape that allows the part to be removed. If not it needs a flange incorporated so that the mould can separate to allow the part to come out.
If you don't put enough release agent onto the original, or make the mould in the right way, you can easily be forced to destroy the original or the mould!
You may also need to glass in pre fabricated parts to add structure and attachment points to the new part you are making.
