Look at it another way.......you don't use the Cobra that much, most are on limited mileage insurance of 3000.
The 3000 miles will cost you no more than £1000 in fuel. Even if you cost in the Tax and insurance and servicing, it's still not an over the top spend for a hobby/lifestyle.
The cost of the car is largely recovered on resale, unlike production cars.
It's certainly cheaper than erm, oh I know, anything equestrian!
