Hi Andy,
As I said it will depend on diameter of your tube but mine are 275mm centres & 225mm between the tubes which are 50mm diameter. ( 275 - 50 = 225mm )
As you've said you will have to fabricate the inside mountings so I would get the hoops made first & position mounts to suit !
