So, for the sake of argument, say it takes 4 hours to test a kit car the test station is getting paid £135 per hour for the testers time. The Testers are paid iirc approx £20 per year so about £10 per hour. I know that the equipment and buildings must cost some but they are a sunk cost, and depreciated over 5 years anyway as they are there in any case for normal, non kit car, testing.

Therefore the government is once again reaming out the car enthusiast just 'cos it can.

Where and to whom can we put our concerns about yet another stealth tax?
