| MCI Starter Motor I have a new MCI Starter motor fitted to my Chevy, in the 6 months of the build the starter motor has never failed to start the engine, but I have never run the engine for more than a few minutes. Now I have the car fitted with exhausts, I have run the car up and down my drive and got the engine up to normal running temperature.
I switched of the engine and stood back to admire my handywork, got back in the car, nothing but a click on the starter, took the dash of to check wiring, everything ok, checked the wires to the starter, ok, went for lunch and a think.
Got back to the car about 2 hours later, pushed the button and it started first time, left it running again, stopped after about 10 mins, push button, nothing.
I have heard about problems with starter motors overheating when headers are close to them, but my headers and intermediate pipes are nowhere near the starter and the starter feels cool to the touch when the problem arises.
Any ideas folks?
Mike
