Now that you have done all that wiring work I'm going to throw a spanner in the works. There is a way to conceal every bit of wiring to the number plate light. Firstly it goes inside the hinge (near the pivot end), out through the square hinge plate directly into the space between the boot skins, around the raised rib as you have done as far as the boot lock and then up to the light. It's a bit of a fiddle but worth it. If you want more detail e-mail me or give me a call. I could bring mine to show you at the weekend if you like. Any excuse for a blast.
