Hi Stefan.
You can get a Holley universal throttle cable from real steel for about £20, it comes complete with bracket.
At the pedal end i usually cut off about 20mm of the arm and then drill a 3mm hole straight through about 10mm from the end from top to bottom and then counter bore about 4mm it with a 6mm drill on the under side, then cut a slot from the end to the hole to allow the cable to locate, the ball on the cable sits nicely in the counter bored part, you should be able to get full travel like this but check that the ball on the carb end can swivel freely cos they can be too tight a fit and need a little persuasion with an angle grinder.
Also tighten up the bolt that the pedal pivots on and then back it off until the pedal can move freely whilst eliminating excessive side to side wobble on the pedal.
