Your observation about pedal travel leads me to think that you still have air in the front system. If the calipers were seized and the system fully bled the pedal would be very solid and you would get less travel while bleeding the rears. Alternatively the master cylinder is assembled wrongly and is not pressurising the front circuit at all. I assume that it is dual circuit?
