In the strictest interpretation of European law, any car that is legal in the UK should also be legal in France.
The trick, of course, is to find a French insurance company that will take on a car (and note I don't even mention "Cobra") with UK plates.................need I say more??
Plus of course, you would have to keep up British MOTs and Road fund licence.
Let us know how you get on re-registering it in La Belle France. I understand that making big-time friends with the Mayor of your town is one of the keys to getting anything done there? Looks like you need to find a new bessy-mate.
