The GD has near perfect 50/50 weight distribution with a 350 or a 383 chevy or a 351 ford and they produce more than enough hp to propel a car that weighs only about 1000kgs.
Stick a big block in there and the weight distribution is all thrown to hell.
If the 383 is still not enough, you could always stick a blower on it.
