Just my two pence worth, Speaking to the DVLA guy in April, you need the chassis number stamped onto the chassis so the vehicle can be recognised by the authorities and the chassis number needs to be in an easily readable place, advice was stamp the number on the chassis underneath where it is not easily removable and then have a seperate plate with the number on under the bonnet for easy Id. the number can be anything as long as it is long enough to not get confused with another car, ie don't have COB1 have TONYM000COB1 etc. :thumb:
