RE: Forum Changes

Rob - same question as I posted elsewhere - Why is this? Or does it restrict access only to some parts of the forum. More info please.

RE: Forum Changes

The site is paid for by the club, and access will be restricted to all the boards within the forum to club members only.

RE: Forum Changes

Is this a committee decision? Do we get to vote yay or nay??
Who do I lobby to get it reversed - I don't wanna be part of no "closed" forum!

RE: Forum Changes

I accept that the Club was generous to allow us non-members access, but it seems a shame you have taken this decision. I will admit I was not considering becoming a member but did think that the forum contained an excellent mix. I know I have no vote but that's probably for the best because you wouldn't like mine. Smacks a little of the way Sky do businessx(

Mike.

How about restricting access from now on?

RE: Forum Changes

Come to think of it I'm prepared to join to vote (There was a vote wasn't there?) this stupid decision out. If it closes to non members you can then have my resignation immediately. Lets here from the members. If they are in general agreement with this decision then fair 'nough.

RE: Forum Changes

Gentlemen, Calm down.

Based on public opinion, and Wilfs wonderful lobbying, this isn't going to happen.

I would like to add that my original post was not very well written.

Wilf, would you like to join the comittee, as we need an events organiser, which I feel you would be very good at.

Wilf and anyone else, if you want to give me a call and talk about this, pick up the mag and my number is in there. But please don't phone today, as I have just spent 22 hours in the car, 12 of them in the same spot on the Autobahn.

RE: Forum Changes

Rob - on behalf of all of us who were concerned about the proposed change, I thank you, and I assume other committee members, for changing your minds.

Also I should like to again take this opportunity of thanking you for the time you spend making this forum happen, and reminding others that it doesn't just happen.

I shall have to think about your kind offer for me to join the committee - as you know I am time poor, will be even more so in the New Year with a business turnaround to orchestrate. I contribute here because it can be done in the odd moments I have to spare, not sure I can manage the more time demanding aspects of committee membership. But I shall think about it.

In the meantime, I am starting to plan the "Wilfs Summer Cobra Party" thing - it will happen sometime next summer, and I look forward to seeing my street (a quiet cul de sac) full of Cobras. So maybe you might get an unofficial "event coordinator" by stealth.

Wilf
