Any tips on Cold Start

Hi All

I have a GD with a Chevy 350 Edelbrock RPM kit from Repower.
It has done 1500 miles and just recently been set up on a rolling road.
Now it has got colder and I am not starting up so often ( every 10 days approx),
she does'nt fire up so easily, usually ends up flooding the carb without it firing, leave for 5 mins after flooding and she fires in to life straight away.
Is there a trick to starting when cold in winter, without using the choke which I am told is not needed so not connected.

Cheers
Peter

Yep, firstly, don't post in the admin announcements section, most people ignore posts here coz they think they are from me. :7 :7 :7

Secondly, one pump on the throttle and then start with approx 1/3rd throttle usually does the trick, used to in my GD, but now I have multi point fuel injection, it does it for me.
