Front Shocks mounting

Chaps

When I fit my front shocks and utilise the metal bushes I saved from the dead Jag, the bushes fit well into the new shocks, and the bolt is a tight fit in the AK brackets and chassis.

The bolt however is quite a bit less diameter than the internal measurement of the bush from the jag.
IE. the whole set up has some give in it.

Any solutions ?

Re: Front Shocks mounting

Clifford,

You dont want to have mismatched bushes and bolts which you obviously realise hence the post..........have a search through the bushes that came with the donor car, and which you have replaced in the new build but not thrown away !!

I'm thinking here about the bushes which fit in the inner roller bearings on the rear wishbone, I think that they could fit into the front lower shock absorber mounting.

Cheers,

Tony

Re: Front Shocks mounting

Dave

you will notice that the bush is shorter than the bush in the shock,
when you tighten the bolt the metal part of the shocker bush is locked solid in the mounting plate and movement is in the rubber only.
