It's not compulsory, but always advisable to carry one in a place that's easily accessible, mine was fitted under my drivers seat.

I've often been asked, "What do you old folks do now that you're retired?
Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.

Yeah. The one I've got is between the two seats. Doesn't look too pretty though. Looks big enough to extinguish Westminster cathedral!

Wasn't there some discussion a while back about not mounting it on the bulkhead. Looks good but the idea of it launching itself as a result of impact (which we all hope will never happen) wasn't good.

I've got two, one I plan to mount in the boot and the one for the cockpit I am still undecided about, I'm thinking of under front edge of either driver or passenger seat

Always a matter of taste but I think I'd rather have mine somewhere a little more discreet.

I have my extinguisher located in front of the passenger seat. It is a plumbed in system with two outlets under the bonnet and one in the cockpit. Once it is armed it can be operated from inside or outside the car. Because of the huge heat created by the big block engine and from the sidepipes I didn't want to take any chances.
