| RE: side pipe fitting im in the stages of taking it apart at the moment due to an upgrade to imperial blue as opposed to the purple gel coat. side pipes are custom made for a viper.ive been out there again tonite and have made a prototype bracket for the back end.looks good.but how far from the body should they be????? any close up pics of pipes next to body would be a great help cheer russ |

| RE: side pipe fitting I've positioned mine with a gap of about 25 mm between the silencer and the body sill section. Are your pipes single or quad collector? I imagine that the AK fitment won't be too far off a DAx. http://animatedgif.net/flags/-flags-uncat/Wales.gif Kev Davies Dax, 383ci Chevy Stroker, Tremec TKO South Wales

| RE: side pipe fitting Hi Russ, sorry for the delay but not had a chance to go to the garage to take any pics before. Hope these are what you need, the one thing I will point out is the rubber used in mounting the side pipes in the first picture this is to allow movement between the exhaust system and the chassis as the exhaust is hard bolted to the engine with no flexible section. If you need any more let me know. Martin :tu :tu :tu :tu

| RE: side pipe fitting hi russ may be some thick rubber between the mounts and a nylock nut on the bolt to combat any vibs good luck with the build mark (fat boy northern) |

| RE: side pipe fitting I got some heavy duty brackets made up which bolt to the underside of the car. They then drop down a couple of inches, and a tab roughly 2" (wide) x 6" sticks out at each mounting point. On top of each tab I've screwed Leyland Mini exhaust bobbins mounted. The tabs on the side of my side pipes (custom chrome) then mount on top of the bobbins whch are then in compression, but still have plenty of flex in them. As other have said, I have rouhgly a fingers width gap. Getting it even along the length of the car has been a bit of a pain. Kevin W. |
