Help can anyone advise where to get decent grommets for fitting of the above?

Re: Grommets for rear nudge bar and front overriders

Got my front and rear grommets from www.cobraaccessories.com - needed a fair bit of customisation but got there in the end - and they look infinitely better than plain holes or stainless escutcheons IMHO.....

John,
How are you getting on with your trim? I sent a couple of messages but no reply...

Re: Grommets for rear nudge bar and front overriders

Hi JP,
I made a date with Dave Brooks trimmer, Kev, for about the last week this month - I should have my car back from the painters by then. Kev will be helping me make up templates and sticking in the carpet that doesn't reqire a template. If you want, I'll let you know when he will be here so you can get first-hand info on how the trim should be tackled.

A roll of thick vinyl wallpaper is excellent for making templates. :thumb: :thumb:

Re: Grommets for rear nudge bar and front overriders

When talking with Kev, he recons that wallpaper is too thin so I bought a load of "artists" card at A1 size. I think he is correct as I bought the thickest wallpaper I could find and it is too pliable. I have made a template for the top of the trans tunnel and, compared with trying with wallpaper, it was very easy. :thumb:

Re: Grommets for rear nudge bar and front overriders

I use something that we call “milk paper” in Sweden (I guess you guys have your milk in bottles but here we get it in paper boxes, this material is like a thicker version of the paper found in Tetra Paks). It comes in huge rolls and is used to cover floors in construction sites etc. It has a milk white “waxy” side and a cardboard looking side and it is very durable. I bought a roll to cover the floors when I was redecorating my house. It costs almost nothing and it has lasted for years. I tried several different materials when I started to make templates for my AK but I found this material to be the best and most cost effective. It works great to mark with a pen, cut with a pair of scissors and tape together.
