View Full Version : Why bother with self build???????

Have certainly picked up my moneys worth by joining! But have read a few threads about DB Replicas and am still scratching head!
Dax have said I can build a newly registered car with Chevy 350 and tremmec with standard kit and good paint job for c26K. DB Replicas will build one with same spec for c26K. (The only difference is Dax quoted for the camber system chassis.)
Question is how does DB do it? Are his components lesser quality or what?
Part of the reason for purchase is because I like mecanno etc but is it worth it?
PS Has anyone got one of their hard tops, they look stonking!

The way Dave tells it is that he buys at trade prices, which are much lower than you or i would.

His pocket money comes from the money saved on parts, which is why he can build one and make a living for the same money you or i would pay to build our own.

Think I need to talk to Dave!
Dave if you're out there, are your components the same?
