I've just seen a SBC Ali bellhousing for sale but I dont know if its the correct one. I need one to fit a 350.

Are there different bolt patterns dependant on year? Does the BH dictate what starter/clutch/flywheel setup you have etc.

Any help gratefully received
Thanks
Gary

You also need to establish which gearbox you are fitting. If its ally its likely to be an aftermarket part and you need to know what it was made for.

Personally i would go for one of Repowers bellhousings that are extremely well made and are now designed to give maximum ground clearance-ideal for thr cobra

hi gary
is this the one adverised on a certain auction site??if so it looks like a standard chevy item like i have so i'd assume it'll fit a 'normal' chevy item......i am using a 3 speed manual on mine...!! and judging by the fungus/corrosion readily growing i think it might even be MAGNESIUM..........!! an easy test for this is to light some filing in a fold of paper -if its mag it'll sparkle...mmmm

You need to know which box you're fitting. I'm putting a Jag 5 speed getrag in my AK onto a 350 SBC. This is where I got my bellhousing from as recommended by fellow forum poster "tony" If it's on Ebay from a guy called Kajunjon then it's the correct one for this setup.

Thanks all

FYI I'm putting a Jag Getrag on.

Mike, Is there a site for Repower?

Neil. It is the one you've seen. Looks like a standard BH to me (not after market). Is Magnesium a good material for a BH?

Kev. I've been in touch with Kajunjon before but I've not orderered off him because I didnt know how good he is? How was he to deal with

Thanks, Gary

He was excellent actually, no problems at all. Had to pay VAT and clearance charges from UK customs on top of the total price though !!!
