Petecob - please enter "insurance" into the search facility here for oodles of stuff about it.

And yes, we do not generate no-claims bonii on specialist policies like ours.

Hi Peter when you take out a new insurance policy you have 0 years no claims on that policy. If you are changing car, ie removing your existing car from your policy and replacing it with another, then the no claims bonus on that policy is transferred. You only earn a no claims discount on an existing policy. Some insurance companies however will give you an introductory no claims policy as way of a discount.

That's just the British insurance companies ripping people off. Here in NZ once you have full NCB it applies to as many vehicles as you care to insure.

Reading the comments from members about cobra insurance I found information about the ins.cover I did not know.I have allways had my cobra ins. with Osborne & Sons from first day of S.V.A. that was year 2000.over the years I have seen my no claims bonus go from 0-5years.I find now that for kit car ins. has one member has said and comfirmed by Backford Bloor that there are no bonus for not having a claim.Thats why my first comment about nil years for £300 was a bit confusing to me.

its best to haggle, the insurance companies at the moment are running "keep the customer happy" schemes to try to retain customers.you can ask almost anything and they will oblige to kee pyour custom.

i am in the body repair industry and this is inside info.

so ask for an extra discount, chances are you will get it

Try telling that to Backford Bloor. They just upped my premium by over 25%!!! I queried it with them but they confimed the new premium.Hence I've saved over 200 quid by changing to Flux's.

Hi Chaps,

I donít know the first thing about specialist insurance policies like we require for our replicas however as you are aware there is strength in numbers which makes me wonder whether the CRC could negotiate a special rate with one of the regular insurers? I donít know if this idea has been considered before but I will make a few calls tomorrow to see if it could get off the ground.

Regards,

Martyn
