Whats your opinion. Should you be able to build a brand new motor years after production and simply place it on the registry. Or should it be classified as an authentic replica of the original.

The phrase fool and money springs to mind.

It's not an authentic replica though, it's a "tribute".

If you went to see a tribute band would you expect to pay the same ticket price as the original?

It seems to be a case of " an object is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it" and in this case they were prepared to pay plenty.

Putting it on the register must dilute the gene pool.

So one numpty buys a rep for the price of an original. How would that make original owners feel?
Imagine the uproar if one of our kits sold for silly money and got put on the register? or has that happened too?

ol' CS may have made a few bucks but must have lost a lot more respect!

I'm going to e mail him and ask if he will endorse mine. Mine is (currently, but due to change) fairly close to original shape and I reckon thats enough.

Colours and instrument layout I will deem to have been tributes to the car and how modern man would have seen the progress.

I'm thirsty, where's my bottle of bull5h1t gone? :D

I can't help but notice the date at the top of the article, does that seem suspicious?
