Hi All

I was awakened by the Fire Brigade this morning, 6.45am. With my van, then just smoking. :( They say that it has been started deliberatly. B******S.... I have no idea who has done it, they have also used a key or something and scratched the side of the van several time too, why.

What is this country coming to......

But what a funny time for them to do it, possibly started about 6.15 to 6.30am.

The also mad thing is I know I will not get the money from the insurance what:-
i) what its worth, 35K miles , Air Con, Alloys, Auto, Rear seat conversion, etc

ii) For whats in the car, Snooper, TomTom (4 months old), 60 sunglasses, etc.

Sorry I know its not Cobra stuff, but I feel better know writing this, I think....
Regards
Colin

Wow - thats bad !!!

Someone must really have it in for you to do that. Not many scallies get up that early to be torching cars.

I hope they're caught and strung up by their bollox  :(

Really sorry to hear this Colin. Even more importantly though, is your garage & its valuable contents alarmed?

Hi Colin.

Yoy have my sympathies mate. Had my car broken into twice, and the wifes car has been done. The b******s even kicked the front door in while we were still in bed at 4.00 in the morning. Are you sure you have not upset anyone? Police suggested that to me. Every thing that does not move is now alarmed. First class security doors and windows fitted at one hell of a cost. Next thing cctv. I know it will not stop them, but I might find out who it is. And if I do it`s hospital food for them for a while. Not messing about anymore. This country has gone to the dogs. The wake up alarm has been ringing too long.

That is bad news!

What disturbs me more is even if they had caught them, it would be 40 hours community service! or drug rehabilitation.

I had my new car (new to me) stolen a few years ago and can sympathise on how you must feel.

Pity our police force is too pre-occupied in spending stupid mounts of money and time trying to catch in the most part, inncoent motorists travelling at 34mph in a 30!!!!

What is this government comming too??? (rant now over)

Hope you get it all sorted out with out too much hassle

Regards
Garry

V bad luck Colin.

Got any new competitors in the area? Maybe with houses that have wheels?

I think just about everyone would agree with the sentiments expressed so far.

Remember "tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime"? Give me strength.

The only effective alarm I've found is having a house full of dogs. But I bet if one of them attacked an intruder it would have to be put down under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Oh don't get me started .......

On a happier note though - great reg plate on your Renault Colin!

Looks like a good area, so unlikely to be passing idiots and anyway these guys must have set out tooled up, with petrol etc.

Must be someone with a grudge, personal or professional or, as has been stated, perhaps someone wanted to slow down the opposition?

With the big brother status of the UK these days who ever it was must have driver past a dozen surveillence cameras, if the police could be bothered they may be able to get something that way.

All our sympathies to you on that one, but at least it was your car not your letter box.

Sorry to here this and I know how you feel, I saw my van drive of mid afternoon, called the police and all they said was "thats why you have insurance mate"

Slightly political but I also agree that this Country has gone to the dogs.

Colin, very sympathetic, it's a country full of abnormal people these days, you strive for a quality of life and then receive a visitation from scum.. as said, strange time of day 'cos that sort are usually sleeping in till noon before waking for another night of mayhem. And of course if you'd disturbed them and administered a 10/10 thumping the law would be giving you 20 questions..
Hope things improve and not too much nonsense from the ins. man.

Sorry about the situation.

My MX5 is in the body shop after some scrote jumped up and down on it for no apparent reason so I know a little about how you feel.

I still like the idea of wishing them their own personal seagull to **** on them every day for the rest of their lives! ( I can't wish illness or harm on anyone BUT I can wish ALL the inconvienience in the world!!)

Thanks everybody for your messages.

I have lived here for 21 years, and it is/was a very nice area. The kids have grown up here, and it was safe for them too.

But now......, well I know I am not alone,if its not the scum costing you money its the goverment taking it off you. NO LETS NOT GO THERE.......
I have had somebody ring my work today but I was not in, asking about the van as they had seen it, somebody I know, but did not leave his name but said he would ring me again. He asked if it was accident or arson, as he had his done about a month ago. He apparently lives around the corner, so wondering if we have a nutter locally getting a kick out of this, as the wife as already said will it be a letterplate next.....

Richard Yes the house and garage are alarmed, will have to get into the habbit of putting it on at night thou....

Wilf I know what you mean but we are lucky in our area , but at Newark were my business is they are every were. They dont do tarmacing now, they have nice brand new vans, sign written doing facsia & soffits, badly.....

Alan yes on a lighter note I bought the plate for the wife two year ago as she has no sense of direction and gets lost, even on our estate at times.

Thanks Again for all replys
Colin

Colin

Find the little s**t and we can use him to start the BBQ at the GD open day and then stone him, or alternatively use him as a turn in marker on the circuit, you know how hard they normally get hit.

Don't bother phoning the police!! They are to fecking occupied catching innocent drivers speeding. I had a letter today threatening to ban me from driving, I have a court appearance next week. Clean licence so far, and the bloody road was changed from a 70 to a 50 overnight and they stick a police van, and me driving like a zombie didn't notice and now I might be banned   I will be suicidal if after all this time, having finally achievied my dream of buying a cobra I will then be banned. I think I should be banned, so I can't get to work, I shall enrole on the doll get everything free and live a damn site easier life!!

Sorry about rant! p.s. **** about van. sorry. hope the police do have time for you too!

I know what you mean about the police. I have not needed them that often but when I have they have either NOT turned up atall, or one or two days after ringing.
But when a guy, who I happen to notice one day looking and pointing his finger with his wife at my van and car in the drive, the police turned up within the hour,

Reason because he told them I was miss using a reg plate,
One was L33 DER and the other was L33 OER. ,My surname is LEEDER

but that`s is important is`nt it........ Not !

Sorry I`ll go and have another brandy....

Good Article in the Lincs Echo Colin. Let's hope the Police actually get a result on this one and get some names published. At least then sum "natural justice" could be brought to bear!

Hi Spoonies
The funny thing is, all that was in the Echo (Writing) I did not say, goes to show don`t believe all thats in the paper, they just write what they want. It did put a smile on my face reading it though ie "third of the fleet" whats that all about, I have 3 x Astras and 3 x Sprinters........

Osgood I know what you are saying, and I know the repetation the double glazing industry has got, and we all get tared with the same brush. I like to think my business is different, we have no pushy sales persons just me and my right hand man which either of us are salesman, just sell by knowing are product.
Most of our work comes from referrals, 8/10 and do not have any unhappy customers, again if we have a problem we sort it out, not like most window companies which once they have the money they don`t go back. We even go back when its out of its TEN year guarantee.
We give our customers a service before and after sales, which seems missing these day in many walks of life.
My business is 15 year old next month, (and were still called the same name..........not like some........)
Sorry I`ll get of my box now,

Thanks
Colin
