Hi Al

I feel like a bit of a cuckoo on this site, I'm currently running a Stylus with a 2.0L Zetec on throttle bodies, but the reason I'm here is for engine info etc. on my current build, A Sebring MRX with a Chevy 383cu ins courtesy of Dayrl at Fastco with 425+ american horses!! and Tremec TKO box.

With this spec. it will definately be bit of a Mongoose!!

The reason I reply is I'm local, based in Mold, and beleive all kit builders can live together. Competition always leads to improvement.

I'm in Flint in North Wales.

I'm building a Cadini Viper cobra replica with a Rover V8 fuel injection engine.

The car is at the painters and due back next week.

The colour (should be) X-power grey with starlight silver stripes.

Can't wait to see it.

Hi Al,

1992 SRV8, 350 Chevy.
Dark Blue, no stripes.... yet!
... Thinking about metallic gunmetal grey with black stripes:cool:

Changed from underslung to side pipes last Winter.

Live in Frodsham but work in Wrexham so quite often venture down the A55 / A483 for a blast and / or to call into Demon Tweeks as it is next door to my place of work. :D

Regards
Paul.

Hi John

Both Iain and I had our cars painted by a guy near Market Rasen. We've both had an awful time and I think i'm probably lucky that I think my car has turned out a bit better than Iain's. Suffice to say that the guy who painted our cars is firstly : too far away, and secondly : has done a poor job on Iain's.

There are other factors to take into account but overall I couldn't recommend him.

Cheers

Cheers Howard, appreciate the honesty!

I think the guy in Buckley looks favourite who painted Stan's (ChesterAK) car then.

Hi all,

New RV8 Sumo owner here in Rhyl, N.Wales..

Bought the car already built, now trying to overcome problems due to lack of use...had done less than 2500 miles in 6 years!

But still enjoying the car a dreamed of as a kid, and lookin forward to improving it as the years go by!

Now where's that sunshine!!

Welcome to you both always pleased to hear of new owners/members in the North West.

Not so pleased to hear the weather forecast though!

I'm sure you will sort your teething problems out and if you get stuck there is always the mine of information on the forum.

Enjoy and pray to SUN gods!

Hi Al,
I'm near Nantwich in Cheshire.
I've got a Magnum that I'm currently rebuilding.
New brakes (four pot calipers on the front), Quaife ATB diff, Tremec TKO 500 gearbox and Mike Huddart 383 stroker.
I'm hoping to get the engine in this weekend and had hoped to get the car back on the road before the summer but 'er in doors wants things doing around the house so I don't think I'll make it.
I'm also renewing the dash, seats and carpeting.

Hi, all,

I have a GD (jag) with a LS2 6.0 ltr - 90% complete, work and house have made the project take a little longer, been building her for around 5 yrs now, but not really touched it for 2 yrs, to be fair,
hope to get things completed for next year..fingers crossed,

Living near Barmouth

Does Powys fit into this category? If so I live near Newtown. Dax, hoping to be ready for SVA about Jan, then a leisurely paint and fit hood etc ready for summer. Started Dec 2006 (think, its been so long I've forgotten!)

Would be great to see some cars together next year from this region.

I'm in Coedpoeth, a few miles outside Wrexham. Get to see a few Cob's zooming past on the A525 heading towards Horseshoe Pass & Bala. Mine's a Sumo with pinto motor, built in '94 and used until '99. Now on the way back to recovery! Not much to do really, but will probably be next year before it's T&T again!

Hi, Turbo Phil here,
Auto Speciali 427 with 2.9 EFI v6 Ford, built for crusing but its quick.;)
I live in Wallasey, so plenty of locals around, we should get together.
Mine is going to painters on Monday, a local paint shop just round the corner from me, called spray systems, run by a guy called Andy, he specialises in custom/special jobs, he has a portfolio of cars he has done and I have seen several of them.
He is not cheap, but you only get what you pay for!!
Only a suggestion, but this place is nice and local I will keep you updated on the paint progress and post picks when done.
Let me know if you want to contact him.
Cheers.
Phil.

Thanks for the offer Phil, but some of these posts are quite old if you check the date at the top, had my car painted 3 years ago!!

Hope everything goes well with yours though, they look totally different once they have been painted.

Hopefully see you around in the spring when my car is taxed again!!
