Hey Dave,

What are your stainless column switches based on? Mine are mini switches that I am currently looking into modifying at work. What I am trying for is a polished stainless look, but keeping all the funcionality of the originals (including horn and windscreen washers)

Have you any pics of yours? Would you consider selling a pair of switches to me, assuming they fit my DAX?

Cheers

Hi Mark.
My stalks don not have to push button function. On the Sierra column the horn can be relocated to the centre of the steering wheel and the intermitent wiper position can be used for the screen washer switch.

Hi Dave

Could you do one with underslung pipes, 15" wheels and an authentic flat bottom dash with the dials in the correct place?

Milsyboy
26-11-07, 08:43 PM
Sorry Dave

Meant to say that I'd prefer a more original looking replica and you seem like a top builder. You're also local and a fellow CSL owner I believe!

Hi Milsyboy.
Underslungs....Yes
Flat bottom dash.....Yes
Dials in the right places.....Yes
15" wheels....Yes, but!!!! The tyre choice is very limited for 15's, and expensive.
We can also set the roll over hoop so that it angles back slightly with an authentic rear brace, and internal boot hinges. I don't have pics on this PC so I will post some tomorrow...If I remember.:-?;)

CSL, Oh yes. Yum!:D

Anyway. If you are local and into Cobras (Or CSLs for that matter) Then visiting us is compulsory, even if you are not buying from us. Don't forget to bring some Foxes Crunch Creams though.

BTW. Welcome to the forum.

DB has a very well developed sense of Xmas; he certainly came up trumps for me last Xmas Eve, and this new offer is unbeatable, still love this motor after eleven months; and I get bored with cars quite quickly.

Foxes biccies and fags; your quite a health fanatic aren't you Dave?

for anyone looking to build a cob with this kind of budget in mind, think about this. a 25k loan over 5yrs is about 500pm that means 6k in the 1st year. you will have to spend double that to buy the basics to start your own build, not inc engine. to me its a no brainer! you could be driving it inside 3months:D
not to take anything away from the guy who would rather build it themselves
but worth a ponder i think. (i'll see you later for money dave!)

You have to remember that a lot of builders use the 'bit by bit' approach as a kind of bank free finance scheme; they buy the next step in the jigsaw when they can afford it; its kind of an automotive chess game; most moves cost 500 and up LOL

Joking apart, I reckon DB's cob building business is a money laundering scheme for a potteries crack baron....how else can he make a living when you add it all up!!

A pic that should be titled 'Contentment'; like this cockney runt attacking a big plate of pie, mash and liquor down the Roman Road London E3:cool:

Back on topic, these price changes make a DB Dax with its supercar performance a hellova 'bangs per buck' bargain when you consider the prices of other sports cars, the new Muzzies are VERY much costlier once you start opting for go-faster gear, Vipers and 911s not cheap even s'hand, Merc SL55 AMG still making 40k upwards, the DB hardtop allowing you to venture out in darkest December, what impresses me is the ride on any reasonable surface, much better controlled than my TVR.

Steve, I must admit that a used 996 for 'everyday' (Mondeo at present..) to keep the Dax company would be automotive contentment; with cup holder for liquor from pie shop..:D

yes for 30k youre into watercooled 996 facelift Carreera 2 or 4 territory; very nice, very nice indeed; but you wouldnt want to spill that nasty gunk on the leather mate!! Best eat your pie mash and liqour at the stall (what is mash and liqour any road??) I think I can work out pie....

Well, mashed potatoes and parsley 'liquor'; made with parsley flour and butter; a green gravy, in London years ago my forebears would buy a pie and a 'penneth' (one pence worth) of mash with liquor, the pies are minced lamb, but some shops offer minced beef also, this meal is a good killer of a 'mile-wide hangover'.. and I speak from experience!

Yeah well everythings relative; very north of Essex, but south of Cumbria!!Im only a Northerner to those south of Watford; we've always considered ourselves midlanders, the meat in the sandwich of UK life LOL.... ;-)

My pal in Arbroath thinks Cumbria is near Devon....

I ALWAYS approach the platforms slowly; for two reasons..

a) so my train is under control, and I'm ready in case someone does the 'dance of death'
b) so as to award marks out of ten for London girls who've 'made the effort'..;)
