Hi Pete. The BFG's are Ok for normal road use. The only ones available in 15" that are any good these days are the Avon CR6ZZ road legal rally tyres BMTR (http://www.bmtr.co.uk/road_legal.htm) Not cheap but............... ;)

As Chris says the CR6ZZ are a performance tyre that are available in soft compound. BMTR offer 2 final compound types, I went for the harder of the 2 that is very soft compared to most mass manufactured mainstream tyres. I am very happy with them, lots of grip in the dry and plenty if taking it steady in the wet. Be aware that they will pick up more road debris due to the soft compound. They down side is that they are silly money, I used BMTR for supply.

Just seen your most recent post, the nearest you are going to get are the 245/60/15 and 225/60/15. You will need to check you rim width to make sure these sizes are suitable. I am using these, see my gallery linked below.

I have the 245/60/15 (26.6" overall dia) on the rear and 215/60/15 (25.2" overall dia)on the front.
I think that the 225/65/15 (26.5" overall dia) may be a better looking tyre for the front as it the profile to view is closer to original spec. The original Cobs had 26.6" overall dia (295/50/15) on the rear and 26.6" overall dia(245/60/15) on the front.

BFG's are still available, But not in the Comp T/A which is what I suspect you have? The current ones are Radial T/A which apparently are knowhere nears as good.

Oh Radial T/A must be awfull!! Comp T/A's are a M&S (mud and Snow) tyre - fine in the dry and deadly in the wet
