Just wondering how long the average Cobra ownership lasts!

I don't tend to keep my cars for very long, I fact my father in-law said to my wife "hope he keeps his women longer then his cars"!

Hey Sumoboy!

I think a modification to the poll might be required...
If mine was on the road when I bought it the story might be different. As it is, I've been building for a long time now!! I may be wrong but I feel that the longer the build the more a person is inclined to hold onto their creation.

I'd second that!!
I've had mine about 3 1/2 years now, been on the road about 12-18months and have barely used it, due to teething troubles, weather, her in-doors... so i'm intending to keep the cob as long as possible!

:D I bought mine 1994 already built and on the road for 10 years before I got it. It has had numerous mods since and I do not see it leaving me. So you may be wrong to assume the longer the built etc.
For me it is the smiles and seat of the pants excitement that makes me want to keep the slut.

I built my Southern Roadcraft in 1999, it took 9 months, I SVA'd and regestered it in November 1999, did a track day at Goodwood two days later, so it's now going into it's eighth year, done two trips to Le mans, two to Nurburgring, And has 10,000 miles on the clock, in about 2003 I re-built the 351 Windsor to Edlebrock performer RPM, with MSD ignition system.

I must be running mine into the ground???

Built and SVA'd in 10 months, on the road for 11 months so far and already done over 4000 miles. Many trips already planned for the coming year

come on guys there's some lightweights out there. my car (GD427 5.7HO SBC) was built in 1996, has 36000 miles on the clock. its been mine for the last 3 years in which time i have put over 10K on it, its driven hard and runs like a dream, has needed nothing more than routine maintenance and is a credit to the original owner/builder.

It is bit misleading, this poll.

I've only had my Cobra for about 3 weeks, so had to put "less than a year" - however, in ten years' time......

Dax in Jan 87, on road Nov 87, painted March 88.
Rebuild, new engine etc 2004 to Sept 2007.

When the feckin weather gets better it will have a few more miles on it.

No hood fitted and used all the time.

as it took 7 years of saturdays to get properly on the road and then different engine and gearbox. I'm going to the grave in it!

Bought my RAM in 2004, my Hawk in 2006 and my Crendon in 2007.
2000 ish miles a year in the RAM, a bit less in the Hawk and the Crendon; roll on summer.

Bought Jag XJS Dec 96, stripped Running gear/ engine Full recon etc.

Bought Chassis 1999

Bought Bodyshell 2001

Got married 2002..............

Going for SVA on Wednesday! (Car that is not her indoors, although...)

Somethings influence more than others but I guess I have owned it a long time but as the odometer only reads 000002 all I owned up until 2 months ago was a kit of parts I guess. hopefully after Wednesday I own a Cobra.

The engine was in the way of waxing the frame and cleaning the foot boxes.

But really I should of had you build the engine for me!;)
