Do you currently have an electric or mechanical pump?

Carter is what I have at the moment, I am assuming it has packed up as it use to make quite a loud humming sound now nothing, and of course car won't start :(
So before I order one what do you think

I would...

Check the fuse.
Check you have power to the pump using a multimeter on the wires.
Check the earth lead connections to the pump.
Check the Pre-pump filter is clean (you do have a pre-pump filter I hope)
If it still doesn't work give it a bash.
If it still doesn't work, Replace

Also check that one of the connectors at the pump has not fallen off.
